Addiction & Sobriety: I help clients get to the root causes of their addiction, and help them identify healthy, effective behaviors to help achieve long-lasting sobriety.
Maternal Mental Health: If you are struggling with anxiety during and after your pregnancy, or are dealing with pregnancy loss or postpartum depression, I can help you cope with the challenges that trying to conceive, pregnancy, and motherhood present.
Relationship & Family Struggles: I help couples and families work through their conflicts, develop better communication, and restore trust and closeness with one another.

Hi, I'm Monika. I am dedicated to helping clients find relief from emotional pain and gain coping skills to better manage life’s challenges. I've been working in the mental health field for over nine years and own a private therapy practice in Boca Raton, FL, where I specialize in working with clients experiencing addiction, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, life stressors, and issues around aging. I utilize DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) to help clients gain skills to manage difficult emotions, handle crises effectively, express their needs to others, and become more mindful of their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. I am also an advocate of promoting women’s access to mental health, with a focus on offering maternal mental health services to women experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I also offer services in Spanish.
I provide a safe, warm environment for my clients to openly share what they are thinking and feeling. Together, we will identify the roadblocks which are keeping you from feeling better, and identify skills and tools you can use to begin feeling relief from your pain. I provide individual therapy to adults, and have extensive experience working with issues surrounding addiction and recovery, anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, parenting difficulties, life transitions, maternal mental health struggles, self-esteem, and struggles with identity. I strive to create a space in which you feel able to openly discuss all your thoughts and feelings, in order for us to connect the dots about your struggles and identify solutions to help improve your quality of life.
I am formally trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and can provide DBT skills training sessions. During these sessions, clients will learn about how to implement emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and mindfulness skills. DBT is an evidence-based therapy, which has proven to be effective for clients experiencing Borderline Personality Disorder, substance abuse, depression, and Bipolar Disorder.
OLDER ADULTS AND AGING
I offer support to older adults struggling with the challenges of aging. This season of life can be riddled with significant hardships, including the loss of loved ones, increased health concerns, physical pain, divorce, fear of death, challenges in relationships with adult children, and feeling regret about past life decisions. It can be difficult to work through these issues alone, and therapy can provide a much needed outlet and source of support.
MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH
I am an advocate of supporting women and their mental health, with a particular focus on maternal mental health issues such as pregnancy loss, infertility, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and struggles with motherhood and parenting. I completed my training in perinatal mood disorders and perinatal mental health psychotherapy via Postpartum Support International in October 2019.
ADDICTION AND RECOVERY
I work with clients to examine their addiction patterns in order to achieve greater understanding of the function of their addiction to achieve emotional relief. In understanding that, clients can then identify replacement behaviors and skills to achieve sobriety. Clients also explore how to develop healthier, more compassionate relationships with themselves to help support long-term recovery.
ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
Anxiety and depression can both cause significant impairment to clients and their well-being. I utilize my training in DBT and CBT to help clients gain tools to change thinking patterns which may be contributing to their anxiety and depression symptoms, along with tools to create changes in behavior which will help to achieve an improved mood and outlook on life.
